Club Night 3rd April 2012

Wow, another terrific evening of stirring music and enjoyed by a near full house! We were put in the right mood with George Watt playing the arrival music on the Club's Technics GA3 organ. In the first half our Club members entertained us wonderfully. First off the rank was John Beales and followed by Roy Steen. To finish the first half, Rob and Barbara Powell played some duets and solo performances with a theme of show music such as South Pacific. Rob played the Club's Clavinova and Barbara brought her lovely Yamaha Tyros 3.

The second-half was taken-over by our special guest artist, Vladimir Shilov, who last played for us in 2008 - far too long! Vladimir Shilov played a great variety of music from Russian love songs to blues with some latin interludes using the basic rhythm machine for effect. Vladimir was very complimentary about the sound and expressiveness of the Club's Clavinova CVP-509. what a wonderful pianist - we must not let it be four years before he returns to play more.

Past President, George Watt, played the arrival music for us on the Club's Techncis GA3 John Beales played his Korg Pa500 for us
