A mid-winter special right out of the box. A really special night of music and a good attendance considering the time of year. Arrival music was ably played by Peter Littlejohn on the Clavinova and followed by Gordon Sutherland on John Perkin's Korg Pa3X. Yvonne Moller followed on her Korg Pa1X. Chris Larking from Music Planet Taharoto Road, Takapuna then kindly gave us an impromptu couple of pieces: one on the Pa3X and the other on the Clavinova. The first half was finished off by Roy Steen on his Korg Pa80. John Perkin, our guest artist, then played for a solid hour on his Korg Pa3X. John has had the instrument now for about 12 months and what a great performance - some magnificent and original arrangements of some classic easy listening pieces such as: Summertime and Sweet Georgia Brown.
