Coffee Day 17th June 2013 at Settlers Lifestyle Village, Albany

Definitely  a top-drawer Coffee Day! What a full-on fantastic day of music in such splendid opulent surroundings in the main lounge to the Settlers Lifestyle Village. We had a record 47 members (or thereabouts) attend together with some 45 residents of Settlers in attendance – a total of 92 enthusiasts! With our 'top gun' musicians playing for us we enjoyed a veritable feast of good music together with a fabulous lunch arranged by residents of Settlers together with lots of social discourse. A very big thank you to our host, Barbara McNab who is a resident of Settlers together with support residents facilitating our delicious lunch. We are grateful to the management of Settlers Lifestyle Village for hosting us in their beautiful Village. Hopefully, we will be able to hold a future Coffee Day at Settlers as both our members and residents seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day.

Club Night 4th June 2013

What a great evening of music! This Club Night was purely a DIY members playing evening and we sure heard a great variety of music, instruments and genres. Diane Lyons played the arrivals music on her Korg Pa500 followed by Len Osbourne on his new Korg Pa600. Next up, Michael Bramley played and sang using his new Yamaha PSR-S950 keyboard. Colin Crann then played his new Korg Pa588 arranger/piano and followed by Diane Lyons who finished the first half on her keyboard with vocals. In the second-half we were entertained by Denise Gunson on piano and accompanied by husband Brian on his electric guitar. Next up Roy Steen played for us his Korg Pa80 and followed by Bennie Gunn who brought his Technics KN2000 arranger/keyboard and then accompanied Len Hancy on the piano as Len gave us a couple of jazz standards with his wonderful vocals. The evening was ‘one for the top drawer’ as they say.

A big thank you to those Committee Members that helped with the organizing and also a vote of thanks to our door duty staff this evening John and Pauline Beales, together with Dennis Lyons who helped our Catering Manager, Diane Lyons, with the supper.

Len Osbourne playing his great new Korg Pa600        Michael Bramley playing his new Yamaha PSR-S950. Sound and vocals sounded terrific.

Colin Crann brought his Korg Pa588 arranger/piano and it sounded just great.               Diane Lyons played and sang using her Korg Pa500. Nice sounds and arrangements.

Denise and Brian Gunson started the second-half for us as a piano/guitar combo and it sounded great through the PA System. Denise is a professional musician and plays at the Spencer on Byron amongst other venues. Good stuff. Denise and Brian Gunson started the second-half for us as a piano/guitar combo and it sounded great through the PA System. A picture of concentration as Roy Steen made magic on his Korg Pa80 which Roy just loves and he certainly does make it 'sing'.

Professional musician, Bennie Gunn, brought along his favourite keyboard - his Technics KN2000. Probably the most advanced keyboard when released and still sounding terrific today - especially in the hands of a consumate 'pro'. Excellent music and musicianship.   Professional musician, Bennie Gunn, brought along his favourite keyboard - his Technics KN2000. Bennie Gunn switched to the Club's Clavinova to accompany Len Hancy with a few jazz piano/;vocal numbers to round off a terrific evening.
