Club Night 2nd July 2013

A near full house enjoyed a tremendous night of keyboard musical variety. Laurie Conder set the scene playing the arrival music on his powerful Roland G-70 music workstation. Doug Farr then got the official programme off to a great start with some rousing music on the Technics GA3 organ. Kuniko Nakatani followed playing straight piano but with a great jazz flavour to it. Laurie then stepped forward again to play his Roland G-70 to give a mini concert - great use of brass instruments to provide a rich and powerful performance. To finish the first-half, Alan Dadson then did a mini concert on the Clavinova CVP-509 making brilliant use of the orchestral sounds and styles on this wonderful instrument.

After a nice refreshment break, we were ready for our very Special Guest Artist, Ron Clark, the renowned Theatre Organist and resident organist on the Wurlitzer Organ at the Avondale Hollywood Theatre. Some really great theatre style music was delivered. To finish his programme, Ron then presented a Laurel and Hardy 20 minute silent movie on the Club's big screen with Ron providing the musical background for the hilarious film - the movie and Ron's musical drama certainly had the audience in fits of laughter.

A big thank you to all the artists that performed this evening and to the Committee and members who organized the event so well.

Below are some video clips from last night. We hope you enjoy! Then follows the photos.
