Community Music Day at Fairview Lifestyle Village

What a wonderful day. With 7 keyboards, two organs and a grand piano to choose from the players and audience were treated to some great music starting at 10 am and going through to 4 pm. But wait! At 4 pm the bar was opened and so more convivial conversations over a glass of wine or two with cocktail music provided on the grand piano by various of our members including Kuniko Nakatani and Errol Storey. At the peak there were 90 persons enjoying Community Music Day with residents and NSOKC members mingling and soaking up a most memorable day.

A big thank you to Fairview Lifestyle Village for sharing their lovely facilities, as well as much appreciation to the players and last, but not least, the Committee members of The North Shore Organ and Keyboard Club for working so hard to make the day the success that it was.

Club Night 6th August 2013

A great evening of musical entertainment. The International audience was treated to a wonderful variety of styles, instruments and musicianship and all in a relaxed atmosphere. Arrival music plus performing for us was Peter Jackson on his new Yamaha PSR-S950. Marlene Forrest and Barbara Powell each played a session on Marlene’s Yamaha Tyros 4 and Ken Mahy played his Korg Pa1X. Our Guest Artist for the month was Rob Powell, President of the Organ Society of NZ Inc. Rob showed-off the versatility and wonderful styles and sounds that our state-of-the-art, Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509 is capable of. Thanks Rob for a great Concert.

As always, a big thank you to the Committee for organizing the evening so well,
As mentioned above, the International flavour of the audience resulted from Peter Jackson bringing along his two grandchildren that live in Japan. Plus our member, Kuniko Nakatani (also from Japan and visiting NZ for 12 months) helped Peter Littlejohn on door duties for the evening. Thanks to both of you.

Below are some video clips from last night. We hope you enjoy! Then follows the photos.
