Coffee Day at Parklane Village 16th June 2015

What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful winter's day. The North Shore Organ and Keyboard Club were guests of the Parklane Village in Sunnynook. What a beautiful Village and opulent lounge area and great cafeteria! Something over 15 members turned-up to share the day with the residents who seemed to thoroughly enjoy our Community Music Day. Some great playing and happy memories. A big thank you to Diane Lyons, the Club's Events Manager, for organising the venue and to all the Committee members for making sure the day went smoothly.

Club Night 2nd June 2015

Despite a stormy, wild winter's evening a goodly number of our members and visitors were treated to a great night of music. In the first half, Michael Bramley played the arrival music and then gave a 15 minute performance for us on his Yamaha PSR-S950 keyboard and followed by Peter Jackson with his PSR-S950. To finish the first half, Jan and Kevin Johnston came down from Algies Bay to give a mini-concert for us - Jan on her beloved Korg Pa1X and Kevin on his trusty Crafter acoustic guitar. A lovely programme with a latin theme running through their performance. After a great refreshments break (chockie biscuits in great demand!) we were treated to an absolute World class concert by Alan Brown on Hammond SK2 two-manual organ (with genuine Leslie rotating speaker) and accompanied by one of Auckland very best percussionists, Jason Orme. The guys certainly turned on a stunning performance with some original songs by Alan and some jazz standards like 'Easy to Love' by Cole Porter. Top notch stuff. A big thank you to Roger Smith of Music Planet for loaning the Hammond SK2.

A big thanks also to the Committee for organising Club Night so professionally (as always).
