Community Music Day at Knightsbridge Village 21st March 2017

A great day was had by one and all at the sumptuous Knightsbridge Village Main Lounge and Dining Rooms. We were kindly hosted by resident and Club Committee member, Margaret Black. A great setting for some wonderful music played by our members on their personal keyboards or on the Village's lovely Kawai grand piano. We had a scrumptious a-la-carte lunch from the cafeteria whilst being entertained by Errol Storey playing very nice background music.

A big thank you to our Events Manager, Diane Lyons, and our host, Margaret Black, for organizing the Community Day. We appreciate the Management’s permission to allow us to enjoy the wonderful surroundings and entertain the residents and our members for a memorable musical day.

Club Night 7th March 2017

AGM's are a necessary evil in a Club but also a chance to catch-up on the financial health of the Club and review the prior year's exciting events.

After the AGM, we were thrilled to welcome our youngest members, Phoebe Zhang and Hana Tani, to play some classical pieces for us and very nice they were too! After the raffle and a refreshments break, we were thrilled and honoured to welcome back to the Club, Reiko Noda, from Japan. On this trip Reiko was accompanied by her husband Yuzumi Noda and what a charming couple they are. Reiko crammed-in seven pieces for us with a lovely balance between the classics and modern ballads. What a wonderfully talented and charming pianist! Reiko and husband had to leave early for a 4 am plane to Queenstown and we hope they enjoy the beautiful sights and scenery that New Zealand has to offer.
After Reiko played, we were delighted to have Pam Rea play for us on her Korg Pa900 and followed by Warren Levick on the Clavinova CVP-509.
I think the reasonable sized audience went away well pleased with all the wonderful music and fun.
