Club Night 4th April 2017

One of the best musical evenings the Club has ever had and that despite a torrent of rain hitting Auckland and limiting attendance a little. A pity as  our guest artists, Mark Shiloh (formerly known as Vladimir Shilov) on piano and accompanied on some numbers by Max Brown of Music Planet Takapuna on electric guitar. The audience was in raptures with their fantastic renditioning of jazz standards and Mark and Max have never played together before! The first half gave us a nice variety of styles and music by four of our members: John Holster on piano (and on debut); Yvonne Moller (Korg Pa3X); Mary Elvin (piano); and Colin Crann (piano). Arrival music was ably performed by our President Emeritus, George Watt.
We had some new helpers with the administration side of things. Rod Moffat and Peter Jackson are now helping with the logistics of setting-up the room each month which can take up to two hours to wire everything up! Also, Roy Steen and Karen Steen are helping with door duties and catering respectively. This is a big help to your President and Secretary who have been doing this alone for the last few years. A big thank you to Rod Moffat also for taking the photos this evening as our Club Photographer was unable to attend due to the inclement weather.
