Informal Concert by Gordon Sutherland 11th March 2016

Part of The North Shore Organ and Keyboard Club’s ethos is to “Bring Music to the Community”. In the spirit of this ethos, the Club President, Gordon Sutherland, was recently invited to play for a Rest Home on the North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand. The Concert was fairly informal with lots of background chatter (hopefully enthusiasm for the music!) and certainly the video of the Concert presented below is basically ‘raw’ with no editing and the numerous mistakes are all mine not the fault of the superb, latest top-of-the-range Korg arranger keyboard – the Pa4X.

The Concert lasts approximately one hour and I hope you enjoy the sounds and styles that this wonderful instrument can produce.

Club Night 1st March 2016

The start of the evening was given over to our 39th  Annual General Meeting! The Club has been in continuous operation since 1977 - veritably an institution! The AGM only took half an hour and the existing Committee Members all stood for re-election (thanks awfully) and then Roy Steen entertained us on the Clavinova for  a few improvised pieces before we went for an early supper so that the room could be re-arranged for the music in the second half.

After drawing the raffle prizes, the second half of the evening started with Yvonne Moller playing her Korg Pa1X. Yvonne was followed by Warren Levick on the Clavinova; Diane Lyons on her Yamaha PSR-3000 and finishing with Barbara McNab on the Clavinova. Great music 'guys'.

The Videos:
