Coffee Day at Fairview Lifestyle Village

For the Club's Coffee Day this month, we were hosted by Fairview Lifestyle Village in Albany. Twenty-eight of our members turned-up to enjoy the day which started about 10.15 am and carried on until 3.00 pm. It was great to have four different keyboards set-up together with the Village's Kohler and Campbell grand piano. We had an excellent turn-out of residents also who seemed to thoroughly enjoy the quality and diversity of the music. Fairview have a new kitchen staff and catering manager and they looked after our comestible needs superbly! All in all, a very successful and enjoyable Coffee Day.
A big thank you to Russ and Kay Boyes on the Club's desk handling the raffle as well as Delyse Whorwood and Diane Lyons mingling with the residents as our roaming ambassadors. Thanks also to Kay Boyes for organizing the Day in conjunction with Len Hancy who lives in the Village and is a member of the Club as well.

Club Night 6th August 2019

What a great night of music, what variety of styles, of instruments and playing techniques. The heaters were on full blast to keep us warm on this cold winter evening but the music was hot!

Arrival music and a 15 minute performance was given by Roy Steen on his Korg Pa300. Yvonne Moller brought along her Korg Pa3X whilst Kay Boyes and Brian McMurray played the Club's Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509. All great music - thanks!
After a refreshments break, our guest artist, Sandy Lynch, brought along her Yamaha Tyros 2 arranger keyboard which she made sound fantastic with orchestration and rhythm. Sandy also played the Club's Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509. A lovely selection of songs and genres including a few audience requests towards the end of the recital. What a great musician!

As always a big thanks to the Committee and kitchen helpers for making the evening go so smoothly.
