Prescott Club Concert 31st October 2012

On the last Wednesday of each month, members of The North Shore Organ and Keyboard Club give a pre-luncheon Concert for the Prescott Club (part of Age Concern North Shore) at St Joseph's Church Hall in Takapuna. This month Peter Jackson (vocals); Roy Steen (keyboard); and, Gordon Sutherland volunteered for the gig which Peter Brophy organises for the Club each month. The audience certainly enjoyed the sing-alongs accompanied by Roy Steen on his keyboard and the crooning vocals of Peter Jackson. For variety, Gordon Sutherland played some solo ballads and jazz standards to mix-it-up a little. Lunch looked very tempting too thanks to the volunteer kitchen staff for Age Concern.

Coffee Day 21st October 2012

A solid turn-out of 26 people at our Club Rooms on this holiday weekend. Whilst the weather was inclement outside that didn't worry us as we basked in the lovely music played on the Technics GA3 organ; Clavinova CVP-509; Korg Pa1X; and a Yamaha Tyros. The raffle of a lovely cake display container was won by Delyse Whorwood who reckons she is well pleased as she thought she could use this for bringing vitals to Club meetings! A very nice afternoon of music, conversation and laughter. A big thank you to the Committee for organising things so well.

Club Night 2nd October 2012

A near full house, enjoyed a wonderful evening of music played by our very talented members in the first half. This was our 35th Birthday Club Night and so we celebrated with a lovely cake that our Catering Manager, Delyse Whorwood, kindly arranged for us - the candle even played Happy Birthday to us! In the second half of the programme, we were treated to a magnificent Concert by Dave Hallam. Dave has to be one of the finest keyboardists in New Zealand and he certainly gave us a polished performance with a great choice and variety of music. A big thank you also to the Committee and helpers for making this such a special evening.
