Coffee Day at Okura Country Estate 23rd February 2021

 As has been our tradition over the last 8 or so years, we were cordially invited by Dave Winslade to his Country Estate's Community Hall at Okura. Whilst only 8 minutes north of Northcross on the North Shore of Auckland, Okura is very much in the countryside and as such a lovely day out from suburbia. We had an enthusiastic turn-out of members for the day and indeed we had 7 keyboard brought along including a lovely Korg XE20 digital ensemble piano. The piano was kindly loaned to us for the day by Music Planet Takapuna. Great weather, great conversation, great food and a wonderful variety of music on the various instruments.

Club Night 2nd February 2021

 What a great start to the Club's New Year Event Calendar. A goodish size audience were treated to a feast of diverse instruments and genres of music. The arrival music was provided by a new member, Paul McIsaac, who played the Clavinova. In the first set Peter Longbottom played his Korg Pa600 followed by Claude Moffat on the Clavinova CVP-809. To finish the first half Gordon Sutherland played his Korg Pa4X. For the first two of four songs that Gordon played he was accompanied impromptu by new member, Paul Isaac, on the Clavinova - all good fun!
After a refreshing tea break and opportunity to catch-up on the goss, we were entertained by our Guest Artists, Rob Powell on the Clavinova CVP-809 and Barbara Powell on her Tyros 5. They played some individual pieces and some duets. Very nice presentation and selection of songs primarily from the 1930's and 1940's.
