Check-out the Club’s Future Program - Click on link below:

Club Night 2nd June 2026

An amazing variety of music played on various instruments to make this a most enjoyable evening. Entry music was played by Warren Levick on our Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 ensemble piano and most enjoyable too! Our MC for the night was Committee member, Ken Mahy. Ken did a great job to keep the music flowing and interspersed with specific artist related reminiscences together with occasional quick-fire jokes!

Our programme started with Gordon Sutherland playing four songs on his Korg Pa5X arranger keyboard. Lots of bangs and crashes from the rhythms and pads and some great pan flute sounds. Warren Levick played next on our Clavinova with some great melodies. Yvonne Moller played next on her Korg Pa3X with some lively big band songs and sounds. To finish the first set of music, we had a casual guest who played two classical pieces on our Clavinova - Liszt and Bach. Thank you Shunsuke Yoshioka for your wonderful music and musicianship. Shunsuke was celebrating his 21st Birthday on the Night to make the occasion even more memorable! It is always great to hear our state-of-the-art Clavinova digital piano played at this level of expertise - Shunsuke is in his second year at Varsity studying music.

After the raffle and refreshments break, our second set was devoted to our guest artist, Kane Steves. Kane is a long-time professional keyboardist and music teacher. He brought along his trusty Yamaha PSR 9000 arranger keyboard and boy did he make that thing talk! Great music and vocals from composers such as Billy Joel and Elvis Presley. Thank you, Kane, for sharing your great music and musicianship with us.

Coffee Day at Warren Levick's Home 20th May 2026

What a lovely day both with wonderful music and great weather and beautiful gardens to admire! Warren put on a very nice luncheon augmented by members bringing a plate. Warren has two living areas. In the front lounge he has a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-309 GP ensemble piano together with a Yamaha Electone EL70 organ. In the main living area Warren has his Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 ensemble piano which is the same model to the one the Club owns. All three instruments were played and so it was great to hear the variety of music and styles between all three instruments.

A little disappointing with the limited member turn-out but some members were overseas at the time.

Club Night 5th May 2026

A great night of music and much enjoyed by all attending. For the arrival music, we played part of a concert given at our Club Rooms on 1st December 2020. Our special guest artist on 1st December 2020 was no less than one of New Zealand's finest pianists, Carl Doy.

In the first set we were entertained by Ian Jackson and then Warren Levick both playing the Club's Clavinova CVP-809. Great music guys. To finish the first set, we were sent on a trip down memory lane, whence Len Hancy sang songs from the 1930's through the 1960's with backing tracks. The theme was British comedians who also had great singing voices. Some artists songs played were from: Flanagan and Allen; Max Bygraves; Ken Dodd; and Morecambe and Wise.

After supper, kindly managed by Margaret Black, we were entertained by Denise Gunson on our Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 ensemble piano. What a wonderful pianist Denise is and what a great variety of songs played. Denise's arrangements were magnificent with her crisp playing style so enjoyable.

A great night of music. We had a broad range of musical styles from the classics to country to rock! The evening started with our Treasurer, Warren Levick, playing the arrival music on our Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 ensemble piano. For the first set, three of our members played for us. Firstly, Mary Elvin played some popular songs on our Clavinova and followed by Peter Longbottom on his Korg Pa600 arranger keyboard. To finish the first set, Hana Tani played our Clavinova with some classical pieces such as Clair de Lune (Debussy) - magnificent World class performance! Thank you Mary, Peter and Hana for your great music.

After the raffle and a refreshments break, our guest artist, Jim Joll, entertained us for an hour using his acoustic guitar, vocals and backing tracks, interspersed with some hilarious anecdotes! What a great performance by a consummate professional musician. Thank you Jim.

Coffee Day at Metlifecare Greenwich Gardens

A pleasant and relaxing day at Greenwich Gardens Village for our monthly Coffee Day. It was good to have two new members playing the Boston grand piano. We also had the President of the Organ, Piano and Keyboard Club of Auckland Inc. turn up and play for us! As a grand finale for the Day, our long-time member Hana Tani gave us a mini concert on the Boston grand piano. Hana is in her third year at university studying music and law. It was a privilege to hear such superb classical piano pieces.

Coffee Day at Knightsbridge Village

What a lovely day spent entertaining the residents of this beautiful lifestyle village. We had a plentiful number of our members turn up to play or just enjoy the day. Playing at Knightsbridge Village was particularly good given that it is our new home for our monthly Club Night meetings in the Chelsea Room.
