Coffee Day at Northbridge Village 17th July 2018

Coffee Days at Northbridge Village are always are delight, with very enthusiastic residents, great cafeteria and lovely surroundings. The Village has a state of the art Yamaha Clavinova CVP-709 which sounded great and was well used by a good selection of the Club's piano players. All in all a wonderful day to remember of superb music, great surroundings, great cuisine and convivial company. What more could one ask for on a mid-Winters day. A big thank you to Kay Boyes for organizing the event with Diane Lyons support. Also, a big thank you to Russ Boyes and Delyse Whorwood manning the Information and Raffle desk.

Club Night 3rd July 2018

A lovely evening with a variety of styles of play in the first-half by our members. Diane Lyons did the arrivals music on the Clavinova CVP-509 and then accompanied Doris Thorn who sang four songs for us. Then Claude Moffat played some pieces on the Clavinova. Next up, Peter Longbottom played some nice orchestral arrangements on his Korg Pa600 arranger keyboard. To finish the first-half, John Holster entertained us with a variety of styles from boogie to ballad to ragtime and classic! After  a refreshments break and the raffle, we were entertained for a full hour by our guest artists, Joe and Jill Fingers - Joe on the house acoustic piano and on his Yamaha PSR-S950 arranger keyboard and with Jill providing vocals for some songs. Jill played both lovely oriental ballads and some jazz standards. As always, Joe and Jill got a great ovation for a wonderful concert.
A big thank you as always to the door staff, setup staff, kitchen staff and helpers.
