Coffee Day 18th June 2012

This had to be one of the best Coffee Days ever even if the weather was the worst ever outside! 26 members made the trek to Algies Bay near Warkworth to be entertained most royally by our hosts Jan and Kevin Johnston at their lovely holiday home. There were lots of instruments to play and some wonderful, convivial discourse. The  luncheon was absolutely scrumptious and Kevin had been out fishing the day before to catch fresh snapper for us to enjoy both crumbed and smoked (Kevin has his own smoker!). It was great to have Gavin and Phyllis Prentice (Break Thru) join us for the day and adding a touch of pizzazz to the proceedings. We were able to plug our instruments into their terrific PA/mixer setup.

Once again, a big thank you to Kevin and Jan Johnston for making us all so welcome at their lovely seaside home.

01_SAM_1096 It was teaming down with rain outside the music den but we did not let that stop us having a great time indoors. Here you can see some of the members relaxing to the music provided by Ken Mahy on his Korg Pa1X

Barbara McNab playing her lovely Tyros 4 keyboard with Kevin Johnston accompanying on guitar. We all enjoyed Barbara's renditions of Zambesi and Swingin' Safari    SAM_1083

Kevin Johnston playing guitar and accompanied by a backing arrangement on the Korg Pa1X. Whilst Kevin played we all enjoyed a sumptuous lunch including freshly caught snapper both crumbed and smoked and courtesy of Kevin Johnston the fisherman! Relaxing to the music after a scrumptious luncheon.

A jam session with L to R: Brian Gunson, Peter Brophy, Gavin Prentice (Break Thru), Phyllis Prentice (Break Thru), and Kevin Johnston. At one stage the band grew to 7 including Errol Storey on keyboard and Peter Littlejohn on keyboard but out of photo.    SAM_1092
