A near record Coffee Day in terms of numbers, with 30 members enjoying a fab day of music, camaraderie and gourmet delights for lunch. The weather was lousy outside (cold and rainy) but that didn't stop us having a great time in our hosts' opulent apartment at Fairview Lifestyle Village. We had 6 instruments to choose from so nobody felt marginalized! Some great playing, singing, jamming, gorging and talking! We were able to celebrate Jean Watt's 80th Birthday in the usual way as well as acknowledging Barbara Bailey's 70th Birthday. A big thank you to everybody that helped on kitchen duties and a very big thank you to Peter Brophy for sharing his home with us.

Club Night 3rd July 2012
After a stormy morning weather-wise, we were treated to some serene music in the evening by some of our very talented members. Alan Dadson got the show off to a great start with his terrific arrival music and Alan then played for us in the main programme with some lively songs making excellent use of the Clavinova's built-in styles and orchestrations. Michael Bramley played his Yamaha keyboard and added vocals with great effect to his playing. Ian Jackson gave us a variety of genres of music playing the Clavinova as a straight piano. Denise Gunson then treated us to her flowing and professional style of play on the Clavinova, again in straight piano mode. To finish the first-half of the programme, Brian Gunson played us a few pieces on his super new G&L guitar. In the second-half, Desiree Barrows played her Korg Pa500 for us with some nice choices of songs and followed by our past-President, George Watt, on the Technics GA3 organ. George played a medley and some great individual songs. Alan Dadson then finished the evening's programme for us with 'gusto'. He certainly blew the cobwebs out of the Clavinova with good use of the styles and orchestrations.
