As part of the Club's ethos, we like to 'Bring Our Music to the Community' in addition to our monthly Club Nights and Coffee Days. To this end and part of our "A Sunday Afternoon Musical Spectacular at the PumpHouse" series, we hosted a Concert for some of our senior members to show-off their wonderful musical talent to a broader audience as well as inviting along a World renowned Brass Band, The Dalewool Auckland Brass, that in days gone by went by the name of The Continental Brass Band. And what a Concert it was with Roy Steen starting the first-half on his Korg Pa80 keyboard and followed by Alan Dadson on his Yamaha Tyros 3 keyboard. After an interlude we were then thrilled with the wonderful skills and music of a sub-set of the Dalewool Auckland Brass. There was plenty of audience participation also with two ladies helping the band out with their rendition of 'The Can-Can', together with Roy Steen sportingly volunteering to come and conduct two pieces for the Dalewool Auckland Brass! Lots of fun had by one and all. A big thank you to our performers for a giving us "A Sunday Afternoon Musical Spectacular". A special thanks to Len Hancy for professionally handling the MC duties as well as members of the Committee for their ushering duties.
