Coffee Day at Delyse Whorwood’s home

What a splendid Coffee Day! The weather was good, the company was good, the music was great, and the food was bountiful and tasty. What more could you ask for? About 18 members came along and played Delyse's Clavinova and Korg Pa1X keyboard. It was a warm welcome to Coffee Days for our relatively new member, John Holster.A very big thank you to Delyse for all the trouble she went to make the day memorable and also to Diane and Dennis Lyons for supporting Delyse. As usual our members got stuck in to kitchen duties to share the work. Gordon Sutherland could not be present due to sailing commitments.

Club Night 4th October 2016

What a great Club Night! To start the evening Arthur Reid brought along his Korg Pa3X and played the arrivals music for us. This was Arthur's debut for the Club and he played just great! Then, Jim Nicholson played for us on the Clavinova and followed by Kay Boyes. This was Kay's Club Night debut for us and she played the Clavinova wonderfully well! Colin Crann then played the Clavinova for us with some great styles to compliment his solo playing. The first-half finished with Linus Treefoot giving us a musical quiz which certainly was a challenge to our musical prowess but went down very well. The winner was Audrey Henden who was presented with a bottle of wine again provided by Linus.
After a great refreshments break, we were ready for our guest artist, Sandy Lynch. Sandy is a professional pianist, composer and teacher. Sandy brought along her Yamaha Tyros 2 to compliment her wonderful piano playing on the Clavinova. For the second-part of her Concert she took song requests which was very well received. What a wonderful lady and wow what a great musician!
A big thank you to the Committee for organizing Club Night so well.

Committee Member, Ken Mahy, presented Sandy with a bouquet of flowers as a thank you for her magnificent Concert and also for helping him to write-out the score to a favourite song of Ken's. As well as being a professional pianist, Sandy also composes music and teaches as well. Photo courtesy of Dennis Lyons.
