Glenfield Library Celebrating Music Month

The Club (NSMKC) was invited to contribute a music concert at Glenfield Library as part of their celebrations for Music Month. The event was kindly coordinated by our Media Manager, Warren Levick. We were invited to give an hour's concert both for those present at the Library and for a live stream to certain of the Library's patrons.
The Club players who kindly volunteered their services were: Denise Gunson; Warren Levick; and Gordon Sutherland. Denise brought along her portable stage piano for herself and Warren to use. Gordon brought along his Korg Pa4X arranger keyboard to add variety to the Concert. It was great that some of the Club members turned-up to support the event as well as the Library's patrons. The Club's ethos is to "Bring music to the Community" and so it was a great way to share our love of music with the public at large.
A big thank you to our Media Manager, Warren Levick, for organizing the event in conjunction with Honour from the Glenfield Library. The Library certainly made us very welcome and overall the Concert was a success and very enjoyable for everyone present with a variety of light popular music played.

Coffee Day at Parklane Village

A very enjoyable Coffee Day was held in the lounge of the Parklane Village in Sunnynook. The Village made us very welcome and we had a good turn-out of members. There was an excellent selection off the a-la-carte menu for lunch and the food was delicious! We had two keyboards brought along and our piano players enjoyed the Schimmel grand piano.

Club Night 3rd May 2022

A good attendance for our May 2022 Club Night. Roy Steen played his Korg Pa300 arranger keyboard for both the arrival music and a 15-minute performance. Graeme Webber entertained us on the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 including vocals. To finish the first set, Marion Robertson played the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809. This was Marion's Club Night debut and what an impressive performance.

After the raffle and a coffee break, we were entertained by our guest artist, Paul McIsaac. Paul brought along his Korg Pa3X arranger keyboard which he played in conjunction with his Kurzweil SP5-8 workstation. Paul uses Keyscape software from his laptop to generate the piano/guitar sounds on his Kurzweil and what a fantastic overall sound he created not to mention some great jazz standards that we love. Paul gave us a running commentary on his musical background and how he uses his keyboards synergistically. All good stuff.

A big thank you to all the artists this evening - a great night of diverse music.
