Coffee Day at Fairview Lifestyle Village

What a wonderful Coffee Day for The North Shore Music and Keyboard Club at Fairview Lifestyle Village, Albany, North Shore, Auckland, NZ. A good turn-out of members and lots of attentive and enthusiastic residents enjoyed the music using both arranger keyboards and the Village's grand piano. As a highlight, Kane Steves from Music Planet Takapuna came along and gave an informal mini concert using the very latest Korg Pa5X arranger keyboard. These keyboards are probably the most advanced keyboards available and are designed and made by Korg of Japan in their Italian Division. Kane even managed to get the audience singing along to some of the songs he played. Amazing sounds and styles from this latest keyboard.

The North Shore Music and Keyboard Club plays regularly at retirement villages as part of our ethos of "Bringing music to the Community". This is on top of our monthly Club Night meetings at our Club Rooms at Takapuna Bowling Club.

Club Night 6th September 2022

What a fantastic evening! A great-sized audience with lots of visitors together with some great musicians playing great music. Roy Steen started the evening with the arrival music on the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 piano. The first performance was by Marion Robertson again on the Clavinova. To finish the first set, Paul McIsaac gave an extended mini concert using the Club's Clavinova for attack and his Korg Pa3X for background arrangements. It's a good job that Paul has long arms to reach the two instruments concurrently!

After the raffle and a refreshments break, we were entertained by our guest artist for the evening, Loris Zigon, a jazz pianist/composer/teacher. We were treated to some great jazz improvisations from a diversified range of composter including Lennon & McCartney; Gershwin; and Duke Ellington together with an original composition. All very enjoyable.
