A great Club Night. A good attendance of around 40 people enjoyed a wide variety of music. Arrival music was kindly performed by Peter Longbottom on his Korg Pa600 arranger keyboard. To start the formal performance part Gordon Sutherland played his Korg Pa5X arranger keyboard including two songs with vocals added. Next up, Linus Treefoot played his Korg Havian 30 ensemble digital piano again with some vocals added to the song "La Bamba" in both Spanish and English verses. To finish the first half of the programme, Wu Liu gave us a recital on the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 of classical music and some contemporary music also - beautiful and masterly performed.
After the raffle and a tea break, we were entertained by our guest artist, Qalina (pronounced 'Kaleena'). Qalina brought her Kawaii stage piano and played along with two silent movies to add atmosphere and drama to the movies. One movie, "The Great Train Robbery", dates to 1903 and the second movie by Charlie Chaplin "The Immigrant" was more contemporary being made in 1917! Wonderful skill to interactively add appropriate music to the movies as they proceeded. Overall, a great evening's entertainment.
