Club Night 1st February 2022

This Club Night was our first event for the year and  in fact the first event since 3rd August 2021 courtesy of Covid-19!

We had a good turn-out of members appropriately attired with their Covid masks and Vaccine Passes! A great start to the New Year with three of our players performing in the first set. Roy Steen played the arrival music on his Korg Pa300 arranger keyboard and also gave a mini-concert in the body of the first set. Graeme Webber also gave a performance on the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 using both rhythms and vocals to enhance our musical pleasure. To finish the first set, Denise Gunson played the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 as well and again used layered voices and some background rhythms to enhance the performance. We are grateful to our Treasurer, Warren Levick, for assisting Graeme and Denise pre-meeting with setting-up arrangements for each song for their respective performances.

After the raffle and a refreshments break, we were delighted to have as our Guest Artist, Joe Finers. Joe has played for us at least 3 times previously and is always thoroughly entertaining with his keyboard skills and choice of songs which ranged quite widely including a Chinese ballad. Joe dressed the part for certain sections of his concert and for many of the songs he sang as well. We wished Joe a very Happy Birthday for the 7th February when he will be celebrating his 74th Birthday! We wish his wife, Jill, all best wishes to obtain a MIQ slot to return home from Malaysia where she has been stranded for 18 months.

Virtual Christmas Cracker Concert 17th December 2021

The Club was pleased to promote a Christmas Cracker Concert with pre-recorded videos by members of the Club using the Zoom video conferencing platform. With the Covid situation, the Club is uncomfortable with opening up for normal Club Night get togethers just yet, and so this Christmas Concert was one way to share the joy of music with fellow members and indeed the whole wide World via this Blog and YouTube generally. A big thank you to the artists who prepared the music videos especially for this Concert and a special thank you to Darren Smith of Music Works for hosting the Zoom Concert with his Company's Zoom license.

The North Shore Music and Keyboard Club wishes all its members and indeed the whole music fraternity World-wide a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Let's hope 2022 will start to move us back to more normal times so far as our social interactions are concerned. In the meantime enjoy the videos below that were used for our Zoom Christmas Cracker Concert.
