What a lovely day spent making music and conversation at the Fairview Lifestyle Village, Fairview. Sumptuous surroundings were a great backdrop to a wonderful day of music with a mixture of keyboards and grand piano played by enthusiastic residents and our Club members. A big thank you to our door staff for the raffle, Margaret Black, Delyse Whorwood and Diane Lyons. Our host for the day and our MC was Len Hancy who did a great job introducing the players and then being our main performer to finish the day with accompanist, Mary Barrett, on keyboard and organ. Definitely a day to remember.

Club Night 2nd May 2017
Ron Clingin got the show on the road with the arrival music played on his Korg Pa80. Ron was followed by Linus Treefoot on his 76 note Casio keyboard. Ian Jackson followed playing piano style on the Club's Clavinova CVP-509 and followed by Rod Moffat on Korg Pa4X (76 note) with Nelleke Moffat on vocals. What a terrific first-half!
After a refreshing tea break, we were ready to be thrilled by the wonderful light jazz classics performed by our artists, Darren Smith on Clavinova and Music Works colleague, Daniel Rashtan on his tenor sax. Some great music and inter-play between the two of them and including an original song composed for the evening tentative named "Gordon's Folly" - nothing to do with your President, Gordon Sutherland, surely!
It is great to have additional support from members for the preparation and close of the evening to keep the wheels moving along smoothly and spreading the work load.
All in all, a great night of music, laughter and camaraderie from our little fraternity of music lovers.

Club Night 4th April 2017
One of the best musical evenings the Club has ever had and that despite a torrent of rain hitting Auckland and limiting attendance a little. A pity as our guest artists, Mark Shiloh (formerly known as Vladimir Shilov) on piano and accompanied on some numbers by Max Brown of Music Planet Takapuna on electric guitar. The audience was in raptures with their fantastic renditioning of jazz standards and Mark and Max have never played together before! The first half gave us a nice variety of styles and music by four of our members: John Holster on piano (and on debut); Yvonne Moller (Korg Pa3X); Mary Elvin (piano); and Colin Crann (piano). Arrival music was ably performed by our President Emeritus, George Watt.
We had some new helpers with the administration side of things. Rod Moffat and Peter Jackson are now helping with the logistics of setting-up the room each month which can take up to two hours to wire everything up! Also, Roy Steen and Karen Steen are helping with door duties and catering respectively. This is a big help to your President and Secretary who have been doing this alone for the last few years. A big thank you to Rod Moffat also for taking the photos this evening as our Club Photographer was unable to attend due to the inclement weather.
