Coffee Day at Okura Country Estate –19th February 2019

What a lovely way to start The North Shore Organ and Keyboard Club's 2019 Coffee Days. We were the guests of resident Dave Winslade who lives on this lovely exclusive rural low density rural development - Okura Country Estate. Just a few minutes out of the urban sprawl of Auckland and into a beautiful rural, peaceful haven.

We had around 24 members turn-up to enjoy the day of music, good food and comradeship. Lots of  talent both on piano and arranger keyboards!

A big thank you to Dave Winslade for inviting the Club for the sixth year running to this beautiful country estate. Also thanks to our Secretary, Delyse Whorwood, for acting as Catering Manager  for the day. Kay Boyes, Russ Boyes and Diane Lyons did a great job co-ordinating with Dave  Winslade to make the event happen.

Club Night 5th February 2019

A great way to start our 2019 programme! We had three of our talented members play for us in the first set and followed by our very special guest artist, David Four, in the second set.

In the first set we had Brian McMurray play the piano for us and followed by Warren Levick on piano. Len Hancy then gave us a trip down memory lane with some great old numbers and enhanced by using professional backing tracks for the orchestration.

After a great refreshments break we were ready to hear David Four who is an International singer, pianist and composer with six albums on release. David is now based in NZ having come from Johannesburg. David won the hearts of the audience with his interaction with us and even managing to encourage one of our couples to waltz to one of his numbers!

A big thanks to Delyse for arranging supper, helping with logistics with the aid of Peter Jackson. Russ and Kay Boyes kindly controlled the entry desk for us. All in all, a great evening.

Christmas Club Night 4th December 2018

What a wonderful Christmas year end Club Night to end a great year of Club events both at our Club Rooms, Coffee Days at Lifestyle Villages, and, Coffee Days at members homes.

For our year end Christmas Club Night, we were entertained most magnificently by two of our senior playing members including Taka who brought along his Yamaha Stagea keyboard.

Before the refreshments break, we held our Christmas Hamper Raffle. Due to the generosity of members donations we had 11 buckets of goodies to be won. For our refreshments break we were treated to wonderful Japanese style cream cakes (kindly brought along by Taka Iida) and Christmas cake, biscuits and mince pies. A big thank you to our Secretary, Delyse Whorwood, who organized the catering and the Christmas Hampers.

After the tea break, we were treated to a magnificent concert by Ben Fernandez on our Clavinova piano and accompanied by Rick Roff on vocals and trumpet. Both are International entertainers and they did not disappoint!

All in all, a great evenings entertainment and a wonderful way to finish our 2018 activity year. The Committee takes this opportunity to wish all our members, visitors and observers of this Web Site a Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy and prosperous New Year.
