Club Night 2nd April 2019

A very special evening with some lovely music of all genres. A good-sized audience were entertained in the first set by our members playing: Jim Nicholson did the arrival music for us on the Clavinova. Jim was followed by Hana Tani on Clavinova and followed by Claudette Wheeler also on the Clavinova. To finish the first set, Rod and Nelleke Moffat gave us to jazz standards and some 50' and 60's rock and roll numbers that certainly got the feet tapping!
After a refreshments break, we were entertained by Murray McIlwraith on our Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509. Murray mainly concentrated on his arrangements of some of the Jazz masters from the 30's such as Cole Porter, Hoagie Carmichael and George Shearing. What a great voice as well as a talented pianist!
A big thank you to the Committee and helpers that made the set-up and running of the evening go so smoothly.

Coffee Day at Rob and Barbara Powell’s home 19th March 2019

For Coffee Day this month, we were cordially invited to the lovely home of Rob and Barbara Powell. What a wonderful day we had (as always). We all enjoyed playing the great variety of instruments that Rob and Barbara have. Lots of nice food for lunch and great convivial company. What more could you ask for on a day out! Thank you Rob and Barbara as always for your wonderful hospitality.

Club Night 5th March 2019

March Club Night commenced with our AGM. Never very exciting but a necessary thing to do once a year. After a refreshments break we were entertained with a great selection of music by four of our members. We started off with Patrick McMillan who debuted for the Club on the Clavinova and played beautifully I might add! Next up we had Peter Longbottom who played his Korg Pa600 to great effect. Back then to piano and Mary Elvin entertained us on the Clavinova. To finish the show, Yvonne Moller played her Korg Pa3X for us with some great effects and nice saxes!As always a big thank you to the Committee and helpers in the kitchen and setting-up of the Club Rooms.
