Coffee Day at The Peninsula Club, Whangaparaoa 19th May 2015

Our first Coffee/Community Music Day at this lovely Lifestyle Village on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. We were made most welcome by the Management and Social Committee (Pauline and Vincent). We had around 30 members in attendance for what was a great day of superb music, fun and relaxed conversation. The Chef for the Village also put on a special lunch just for us and it was delicious at a very reasonable price too! The residents must have enjoyed the Day as we were asked to come back and play for them again - soon!A big thank you to Diane Lyons for organizing the event and to Committee Members, Delyse Whorwood, Margaret Black and Dennis Lyons and Laurie Conder for helping with the logistics for the day.

Club Night 5th May 2015

A wonderful night of music! Such a variety of styles and instruments giving us a musical feast. The evening started with Roy Steen playing the Korg Pa900 and Pa80 with his wonderfully relaxed style. Our four members who played for us in the first half of the programme were: Pam Rea (Korg Pa900); Roy Steen (Korg Pa80); Laurie Conder (Roland BK-9); and Takashi (Taka) Iida on his two manual + pedalboard keyboard. Great music guys/gals. After a refreshing tea break we were delighted to welcome back as our Special Guest Artist, Chris Larking, the Manager of Mainline MusicWorks Albany. Chris is a professional musician with an extraordinary ability to play songs that really hit home with his audience with both wonderful style and sound choices and masterful and unique arrangements. Chris brought along a Yamaha PSR-S950 which he just about made talk especially through the Yamaha StagePas 600i PA System. For variety, Chris also played a few numbers on the Club's Yamaha Clavinova CVP-509 which sounded magnificent with Chris' golden touch.
All in all another wonderful evening of music, fun and laughs. A big thank you to the Committee for making the evening go so well.

Coffee Day at Knightsbridge Village

What a lovely day spent at the beautiful gated community of Knightsbridge Village near Mairangi Bay. We were the guests of our Committee Member and resident of Knightsbridge Village, Margaret Black. Lots of music, great conversation, superb cuisine and sumptuous surroundings - how better to spend an Autumn Day. A big thank you to Margaret Black for promoting Community Music Day at the Village and also to  Diane Lyons for organising the event as well. A great job was done by our members that manned the Information and Raffle Desk as well. For those that could stay on, it was nice that the bar was opened at 3.30 pm in order for us to continue with some informal playing whilst enjoying a refreshing drink.
