It was great to see members turning-up on a dreadful winter's night to be entertained by some wonderful musicians and music. In the first set, we were entertained by our members: Roy Steen doing the arrival music and a performance on the Club's Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809. Also playing in the first set were Claude Moffat on the Clavinova and Len Hancy singing and using orchestral backings. Roy Steen recently celebrated his 90th Birthday and so we were pleased to sing Happy Birthday to acknowledge this auspicious occasion. Well done guys for a great first set.
After the raffle and a refreshments break, we were delighted to welcome back Nick Jones on electric violin. Nick uses the nickname of The Violin Guy and he certainly turned-on a fantastic performance with a great selection of music from the 60's through the current era. We even had an uptempo version of some classics! Nick was using an audio player to provide exciting backing tracks to enhance his superb violin solo performance.
Just a very special evening of music enjoyed by all attending including some guests from Australia in the audience!
